Team News / Week 3 at Broncos

This was a tough game to shallow. It was a game that we had in the bag til the end. Brees had a decent game but the Broncos d was getting to him so he was having a hard time throwing the ball. Brees was 22-37 for 270 yards and had himself 2 touchdowns and 3 interecptions. And the 3rd one was the toughest one. They had a back and forth game with them. LT was unstoppable, you have no chance of stopping the leading rusher in yards and touchdowns. Tomlinson had 183 yards on the ground on 11 attempts. And he scored 2 touchdowns on the ground as well. He started the game off with a 76 yard touchdown run. He was so good through the ground that Brees decided to get him in the passing game. He had 6 receptions for 50 yards. He was beating them with his legs and hands. He wasn't the only one who had a good game. I mean no one else went off like he did but there were others who stepped up and tried to help seal the win. Gates had another good game. He had 5 receptions for 88 yards and grabbed himself 2 touchdowns. Just another good game by one of the better Tight Ends in the game. He wasn't the only one having a good receiving game. Tim Dwight had a pretty good game as well. He needed to cause Dyson was almost a no show. Dwight had 6 receptions for 49 yards and Dyson on the other hand had one grab for just 8 yards. 8 yards for the number 1 guy he sure has not looked like the guy. If he doesn't start showing up he might be looking for a new team soon. It's still early but since everyone else is playing well he might not be playing much. Parker didn't have a stand out game but for the number three receiver he had a better game than Dyson. He had 3 receptions for 55 yards. The defense didn't have to bad of a day. They gave up 325 yards total and a majority of it was through the air. 265 yards through the air and they were able to shut the run game down. Only giving up 60 yards rushing. But towards the end of the game they also let the team down by giving up 17 points. The offense only scored 7 late in the 3rd and in the 4th while the Broncos went on a tear and scored 17. The Chargers had no answer to the Broncos comeback and this loss hurt due to it being a division game. Not only does this end there perfect season but gives them their first loss in the division.  They will be hosting the Titans next week maybe they can hold a lead til the end of the game vs them.

Team News / Week 3 vs Saints

Perfect start to the Rams post Kurt Warner era. The greatest show on turf didn't mean offense today it was all about the defense today. They got to the quarterback 11 times. 11 times they sacked the QB. I bet that made the offense feel good. Knowing that they didn't have to do much to win the game due to the defense man handling the Saints. Marc Bulger had his best start of the season today. He was 13-26 for 199 yards. Now I know that doesn't sound like a great start but when you see what he did touchdown wise it makes sense. He had 3 touchdowns and only 1 interecption. Now compared to his first two games he already through less interecptions today than any other game. His first two games he threw 3 picks and today he threw 3 touchdowns. That will definitely help out your defense and your team win the game. But when you have one of the best running backs in the game it's not hard to pull out wins. Faulk was a beast today he was able to get over 100 yards today. Rushing for 104 yards on 10 attempts and scored 1 touchdown. He also caught 3 passes for 21 yards and 1 touchdown. He was doing it all today. You can't stop one of the best backs you can only hope to contain him. He wasn't the only back to have a good game. Steven Jackson had a decent game for not being in there very much. He rushed the ball on 7 attempts for 42 yards. The receivers didn't have outstanding games but when the defense plays like legends out there, there is no need to have to put it all on the offense. Holt had himself a pretty good day having 4 receptions for 73 yards and catching 1 touchdowns. Not too bad of a day. Bruce didn't have a crazy game but he still did enough to help them out. He may of have only 39 yards on 3 receptions but he was still able to get himself a touchdown pass as well. Now where the real story is at the defense.  Let's say it again they sacked the quarterback 11 times. Leading the way was Leonard Little with 4 tackles and 4 sacks. Little had more sacks than the whole Saints team had. Tinoisamoa lead the team with 6 tackles and also got into the sack total with 2 of his own. Moran had himself 3 tackles and 2.5 sacks. Garrett, Jackson, and Polley also joined the Rams sack club with 1 a piece. But that wasn't the only club the Rams had going on today. Williams and Thomas started their own club. We're interecptions are the fee of entry. They both werw abke to get themselves a pick in this game. When your front line is putting tons of pressure on the QB its makes it a little easier to get a couple picks. The defense gave up 320 yards total. Not to bad of a day. Only 194 yards through the air keeping them out of the endzone passing and rushing. 126 yards rushing. Other than the fumble recovery in the endzone the Rams kept the Saints out of the endzone. Next week the Rams will be facing a division opponent in the 49ers. Let's see if they can keep their perfect streak going.

Team News / Week 3 at Rams

It was a rough day for Aaron Brooks today. His o-line was almost non existent. He was sacked for a total of 11 times. He would of been better off not having a o-line today. Other than Brooks no one on the team stepped up. Brooks didn't play great but with the rush and time he had today who would of played great. He was 11-23 194 yds and threw 2 picks. He also rushed for 62 yards. He had to do so much that he even caught a pass from himself for 7 yards. Other than Brooks there was no one else helping out. McAllister had a rough day rushing as well. He rushed for 63 yards on 11 attempts. He caught one pass for 19 yards. He just was getting shut down at the line and it was a surprise h was able to get 63 yards on the day. And he wasn't the only player that let down Brooks. Joe Horn his number 1 target must have been up late the night before cause he didn't not show up. He had 2 catches for 28 yards. Horn has been his guy for the last 2 games and instead of playing like a star he played like a rookie. He let Brooks down and it showed cause he had no one else to go too. Henderson and Stallworth we're the only ones that showed up but even then they really didn't show up. Henderson had 3 receptions for 61 yards. And to make things worse for the day Henderson made a rookie mistake and was celebrating to early an fumbled the ball near the endzone. Luckily he had a teammate there to scoop up the ball and score. But Henderson what were you thinking. Your about to score your first career touchdowns and you do that. It's bad enough your time was down so why would you do that. Stallworth also had 2 receptions for 57 yards. Henderson was the only receiver to catch more than 2 passes. The defense, now when you look at the stats it doesn't look like they were blown out but no one made any plays. The defense gave up 343 yards total. 199 passing and 144 rushing. The rushing yard look bad but when you look at the passing game you would think that they handled the Rams ok but no. Grant and Walton had 2 tackles and Grant had a sack and Walton was able to get half a sack. Bellamy had a decent game he had 5 tackles and was able to get an interecption. So he stepped up for the d but sadly no one else wanted to. This loss hurt not only get beat 31-9 but to also lose their first game of the season and lose the chance to have the best start that they have had in years. They will need to rebound from this defeat and try to get a win from the struggling Cardinals.

Well the 6th pick in the draft was having himself a pretty good start. But due to an injury Winslow's season might be done. Let's hope not cause he was a great prospect for the Browns. Kellen Winslow had 16 receptions for 190 yards and 1 touchdown.
